Inspirations


+ I've been writing short stories since I was in elementary school, but I've never been much of a reader. Truthfully, The only books I ever read were either school assignments or ones with lots of pictures and few words. Because of this, it takes me longer to get through text, but that doesn’t mean I don’t understand it. In fact, I get the most enjoyment from analyzing a story, breaking down the narrative into its components. I guess you could say I'm more interested in how a narrative works than in the story it conveys. I know, I’m a little unusual that way. 


+ Similarly, I'm more interested in collecting video games than in actually playing them. It probably has something to do with my short attention span, but I just cannot sit and play any of them for longer than an hour—it’s exhausting for me. On top of that, there just aren’t many games that appeal to me. As with books, I care more about the art direction than the gameplay. It’s gotten to the point where simply exploring game worlds has become a hobby in itself. 


+ My artwork is heavily influenced by the media I’m obsessed with. Incidentally, much of this media tends to be darker in tone and fairly avant-garde. I don’t pretend to have something profound to say—my purpose for creating art is strictly self-expression. That said, I do enjoy exploring my own thoughts and occasionally getting philosophical
